The 2008 British Grand Prix
was a sell-out on all three days. All eyes were on the British drivers
and in particular Lewis Hamilton in his bid to secure his home race
victory. With new regulations for 2009, expect to see even more drama as
the drivers battle it out on one of their favourite and fastest GP
circuits at the 2009 FORMULA ONE SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX.

While the British Grand Prix is
Silverstone's flagship event, the
circuit's 2009 calendar also offers fans a fantastic line-up of
international and domestic championships.
FROM SPORTS CARS AND CLASSICS TO THE BEST OF BRITISH AND LE MANS
In 2009 expect to enjoy the return of some high-profile, high-action
events including the Supercar Showdown, HiQ British Touring Car
Championship, Bennetts British Superbikes and of course the legendary
2009 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX.
The Supercar Showdown featuring the FIA GT championship is set to make
its way to Silverstone in May, where some of the world's finest
supercars will compete in what promises to be a spectacular weekend of
racing and fan events.
In June the legendary 2009 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX,
graces Silverstone with what is set to be a dramatic spectacle of
racing. As Lewis Hamilton defends his championship status and our racing
heroes contend with new regulations for 2009, expect a repeat of the
action, emotion and intensity experienced as a spectator of the 2008
FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX.
In August Silverstone serves-up the best of British motorsport. Hosting
the British F3 / GT Championship on 16-17 August where the F1™ stars of
the future demonstrate their abilities in the world's most competitive
F3 championship and the supercars return to do battle for British
Championship honours.
The HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship returns to the circuit on
the Bank Holiday weekend 30-31 August. The door to door, gladiatorial
racing that the BTCC produces makes for spectacular family
entertainment, and with three touring cars race and a full bill of
support races there is plenty to keep the crowds enthralled all day.
September brings the stars and cars from the annual 24 Hours of Le Mans
- the world's most famous endurance race - to Silverstone for a 1000kms
race as part of the Autosport 1000km of Silverstone (13-14 September),
while the Britcar 24 Hour, as seen on Top Gear in 2007, will deliver a
full twice around the clock endurance epic on 19-21 September.

Aficionados of two wheel motorsport will want to make sure they are here
in September for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. There is a
good chance the title will be decided on Silverstone's challenging
International circuit as the best riders in the UK do battle in the what
is undoubtedly the world's toughest National Championship.
We expect to have a full line-up of 2009 events confirmed shortly, so
make sure you watch this space.
